Purpose / Main areas of Responsibilities
The main focus of the New Vehicle Sales Consultant is to achieve an agreed quota/revenue target by gaining business from new and existing clients, while ensuring complete guest satisfaction.
Key job functions & Accountabilities
The New Vehicle Sales Consultant carries out a range of duties related to the selling of new vehicles, including:
Maintaining a high knowledge level about Toyota vehicles and products
Ability to understand cost benefits reasoning analysis among product range and communicate to clients
Understanding the guest’s objectives, buying criteria and decision-making processes
Understanding the guest’s objectives, buying criteria and decision-making processes
Forming long term business partnerships with guests in order to leverage future transactions/purchases
Identifying and exceeding the needs of guests by providing in-depth advice and service
Assisting in the selection and purchase process of a new vehicle
Identifying and gaining new business through a sustained program of cold calling, mailing, following up referrals/ leads and keeping abreast of competitors strategies
Conducting product demonstrations (as needed) and co-ordinating the preparation of product delivery ensuring specific deal agreements (extras/ options) are completed.

Key job functions & Accountabilities
The Apprentice Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:
Basic servicing and repairing the mechanical parts of vehicles such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gearbox, differential), and the suspension systems (springs, steering, wheels, brakes, and tyres)
Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
Minor repairs to the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission, and the suspension systems
Installing optional extras to new vehicles as required
Reporting all necessary work, service, or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialized equipment
Providing high-level guest service to the dealerships guests
Demonstrate behaviours that align with company policies, organizational values, and The Toyota Way
Contribute to building a positive team spirit
Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience
Attend TAFE as required by the Traineeship.
Learn all facets of mechanical repair and servicing through observation of, and participation in any designated task.
Follow the directions given by supervisory/management staff.
Apply knowledge learnt at TAFE to workplace situations
Always maintain safe working practices
Report all workplace hazards and report all OHS issues.
Comply with OHS, Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Policies
Contribute to a hazard free and OHS compliant work place.
Participate where required in the resolution of OHS issues
Work overtime as scheduled or with 24 hours’ notice period (as per award)
