Purpose / Main area of Responsibilities

The Used Car Reconditioning Coordinator is responsible for all Pre-Delivery and Used Car preparation for both Chatswood and Ryde Toyota.

Key job functions & Accountabilities

• Carry out quality control of all used cars before departure to our used car yard
• Used vehicle reconditioning for both sites (Ryde and Chatswood) 
• Manage and liaise with sublet repairs 
• Responsible for photographing and quoting repairs 
• Responsible for all day to day operations of the Pre Delivery department at Ryde 
• Plan all Pre-Delivery daily activities, analyse results and plan methods of reaching greater efficiency in order to achieve departmental plan without compromising the high level of workmanship 
• Complete performance reviews with Pre-Delivery team members 
• Support the continuous improvement of the department and display an innovative approach, enabling the team to develop new skills to respond better to the changing needs of our clients and guests 
• Monitor Pre-Delivery performance and take corrective action to ensure that all commitments are met 
• Achieve business growth plans consistent with agreed strategies 
• Maintain an effective department structure, team member capability, performance levels and department culture 
• Recommend purchase of Pre-Delivery equipment 
• Administer cost control, pricing, discounts, purchase control
• Adopt a hands on approach when required 
• Facilitate any technical support needed for the department 
• Complete productivity and efficiency reporting, non-productive clocking and analyse and discuss outcomes 
• Ensure proactive procedures are in place to control outstanding service debtors as per company guidelines 
• Role model effective and accurate data integrity 
• Facilitate weekly Pre-Delivery meetings recording all minutes 
• Understand, comply and support all WH&S standards and safety regulations 
• Demonstrate behaviours that align with company policies, organisational values and Toyota For Life quality standards

Main purpose:

The main focus of the Used Car Sales Manger is to direct a team of used vehicle sales employees to achieve predetermined sales targets, and ensure complete guest satisfaction is delivered, whilst acting as an ambassador of the dealership and Toyota amongst the wider community.

Key job functions & Accountabilities:

The Used Car Sales Manager carries out a range of duties related to managing the used vehicle sales department, including:

• Providing leadership and direction to used vehicle sales employees
• Aligning used vehicle sales activities with the broader business plan
• Regular reporting of actual sales performance against set targets with variance and revised projections to the General Sales Manager 
• Being responsible for the appraisal, purchase, reconditioning, display and merchandising of the used vehicles in the dealerships
• Processing commission sheets
• Promoting the dealership and the Toyota brand
• Monitoring the sales revenue, margin, and expense performance, initiating corrective action where required 
• Providing motivational support, fostering teamwork and empowering others
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and readily accept constructive feedback
• Monitoring competitors sales and product strategies, campaigns and events to optimise market share
• Recruiting, selecting and training of used vehicle sales staff
• Understanding the guests objectives, buying criteria and decision making processes, and forming long term business partnerships in order to leverage future transactions/ purchases
• Identifying and exceeding the needs of guests by providing in-depth advice and service 
• Assisting guests in the selection and purchase process of a used vehicle

Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role or extensive experience in a sales role, with a proven sales record, preferably within the automotive industry
• Current and valid drivers license and able to drive manual transmission
• Strong understanding of all aspects of a used vehicle operation
• Highly developed knowledge of the automotive industry 
• Ability to profile guest needs
• Ability to build effective relationships with guests resulting in sales
• Leadership skills
• High level of communication skill, incorporating written and oral communication, influencing and negotiation skills
• Ability to think forward and take initiative

Reports to: Foreman/ Master Technician / Service Manager

Purpose / Main area of Responsibilities:

The main focus of an Apprentice Technician is to carrying out a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service as detailed per product warranty guidelines, while training with qualified technicians.

Key job functions & Accountabilities

The Apprentice Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:

• Basic servicing and repairing the mechanical parts of vehicles such as the engine, transmission (clutch, gearbox, differential), and the suspension systems (springs, steering, wheels, brakes and tyres) 
• Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
• Minor repairs to the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems 
• Installing optional extras to new vehicles as required
• Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
• Ordering parts needed as part of warranty service
• Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
• Providing high level guest service to the dealerships guests

Who do we need?

Manager to join our team in Ryde.  Prior experience as an Automotive Technician
ready to take the next step, or an existing Workshop Controller ready to make a
difference is essential.

The Used Car Reconditioning Manager/Controller is responsible for all Pre-Delivery
and Used Car preparation. The primary duties involve planning all Pre-Delivery daily
activities, analysing results and planning methods of reaching greater efficiency.

Responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Pre-Delivery department including
but not limited to:

• Used vehicle reconditioning,
• managing and liaising with sublet repairs, 
• estimating and quoting repairs,
• carrying out quality control of all used cars.

Purpose: The Branch Manager oversees the daily operations of Ryde Toyota

Key job functions & Accountabilities

The Branch Manager carries out a range of duties including but not limited to:

Business Operations and Financial Activity:

• Monitor the dealership’s budget and ensure that all costs are in line with the set targets
• Analyse financial reports for the dealership and liaise with the Financial Controller and
  Dealership Accountant on monitoring fixed and variable costs
• Manage, mentor and train department managers and employees and ensure that all daily
  practices are in line with Toyota For Life requirements
• Liaise with the Guest Experience Manager to manage guest complaints and ensure that all
  approaches to guest experience are kaizen
• Attend and facilitate product training that is in line with the Toyota Franchise agreement
• Sign company purchase orders relevant to business operations and staff expenses
• Analyse market trends and develop strategies in line with the company’s overall corporate
  strategy

People and Culture:

• Liaise with the People and Culture Coordinator on the recruitment and selection process
• Liaise with the People and Culture Coordinator on employee counselling, discipline and
  termination
• Oversee the coordination of performance reviews
